March 2011 Blog Income Report

Another month has shot by, it is hard to believe that we are now into month four of 2011, it seems like only yesterday that I was celebrating New Year’s Eve with my friends in a pub in the trendy part of North London.

Page Impressions & Visitor Count

The unique visitor count for March stands at 1.053, which is an increase of 275 from the month of February.

The page impression count for March stands at 4.139, which is a huge increase of 2.319 from the month of February.

This means that each unique visitor looked at 3.93 pages.

My bounce rate was 9.5%, that is bloody amazing as it is normally in the 60% bracket.

I am really pleased to see that I have achieved such a nice amount of pageviews, I can only assume that it is down to the guest posts I have published. πŸ™‚

  1. can you elaborate on what you do for private writing?
    That’s a good amount you’ve made.

    • I certainly can try. πŸ™‚

Private writing basically means writing articles/blog posts/press releases from clients that I have managed to find via places like Digital Point, Problogger’s job board and various freelance writing job sites that I found via searching Google for freelance writing jobs.

It was just easier for me to bundle them all into one category and call it “private writing”. It probably sounds rather seedy so I’ll try and think of another name for it by next month. πŸ™‚

  2. In the internet age, it’s stupid not to capitalize on opportunities with your site. I like how you’ve used more then one platform to gain income off of. About how much time do you put into them as a whole?

    • To be honest I have not given some of them much effort. Most of them are advertising banner such as Adbrite, AdJuggler, AdsDaq, Smowtion, Traffic Revenue and UnderDog. I just slapped them. I might change where I put them every now and again but that is it.

TLA was something that I had actually forgotten about because I was with them for months before they gave me anything.

My reviews is probably the area where I work the hardest on. πŸ™‚

  3. nice one. thanks for inspiring us.

  4. These lists are pretty cool! Popular posts of the month is also very interesting specially SEO with bing. Cool blog here.

    • I do a traffic report post with my personal blog and I get a huge kick out of seeing some of the weird things people search for to find my blog. Shiny bumhole is the best so far! πŸ™‚

  5. hi dude .. i think you can write a post explaining how you are getting the job via digitalpoint forum or Problogger’s job board with an example each … or if you are not willing to write a post i think you can directly help us by replying this comment dude .. i think you will spend some of your time for your real blog readers and help us ..

a great thanks and waiting for your reply …

    have a great day πŸ™‚

  6. I have to ask have you ever used or promoted anything from Clickbank? I hear a lot about that site and some people making very good money promoting products from that site. Is there any truth to this?

    • I’ve heard the same, I think it depends on what products you are looking to push. I’ve used Clickbank but had no idea what I was doing. Affiliate marketing is something I’m looking to start doing properly later this year.

  7. Good to see you are making money here and there. You make most of your money through writing articles for others and reviews, which is unfortunately not a route I want to take, sad because there seems to be money in it!

    • I know that it isn’t for everyone. πŸ™‚ I think you have found something that works great for you. Sadly what works for you is something that I suck at. πŸ˜›

  8. I have heard many of the times that we can earn money online by blogs, but was not much aware about it .

Thanks a lot for providing such a useful info!

  9. I am not boasting but proud to have contributed to the top post. If anyone wanted to know how and why, here’s an explanation:

I like contributing to this blog because my own blog is not really a ‘blogging’ blog. Therefore I posted a link to that post on my ‘guest blogging’ page as an example of what my personal blogging standard is.

I also refer to conversations between Dean and myself linking to his blog.

When I speak or comment on something I’ve written about here, I link to the post on this blog to do so.

I am sure Dean will concur with these practices are good ones to learn and implement. One shouldn’t always promote ones own blog but others as well, especially if you guest post on other blogs.

Don’t mean to spam, just trying to help.

    • I’d like to know what the trafic on my post was if you can. And is it possible to change my comment name from ‘Ivin Viljoen’ to ‘Self publishing blog’? It’s a term I’m going for and need the anchor text. I don’t like posting it in name as it’s very unpersonal.

      Thanks.

I hope I’ve got that right, still working around with Google Analytics.

I’ll change your old comments to your new name. You can just enter the new name when you leave comments in the future. If you wanted to change your author name then you can just sign into your account and do it in your profile. πŸ™‚

    • Without wishing to sound mushy, Ivin, I’m proud to have had you writing for the blog. πŸ™‚

And I certainly do agree that linking to other blogs is beneficial, I need to do it more often in my own posts. πŸ˜€

  10. waiting for your post with examples dude …
