I remember a time when receiving payment from sponsored post networks via PayPal was swift and simple, seriously, the company would issue payment and within a few days PayPal would place it into your account.
Those days are long gone, now you are lucky if you receive the payment within a month.
I work with three sponsored post networks who all used to pay promptly once their payout date came around:
LinkFromBlog are a network that I believe might be on the way out. There was a time when you would request payout and within a week you would receive your money, now it takes at least a month. My last payment request was THREE MONTHS AGO and I recently received a email from them saying they were experiencing delays in sending payments.
Linkworth is not your normal run-of-the-mill sponsored post network, it offers a whole lot more such as banner ads, PPC and text link ads. I use it mainly for the text link ads and every now and again for a sponsored post (they don’t come along that often). They pay out on the 10th of the month and you would normally get your money within a few days of that date, not any more, now you have to wait well over a month and I only seem to get my money if I send them a support ticket demanding it.
Anyone who knows me, or has read this blog, will know that I LOVE PayU2Blog, and have done for many years. They stayed strong while other sponsored post networks withered and died when Google called time on their Page Rank feature, but now you have to wait for an average time of 5-6 weeks for your money instead of the normal 3-5 days.
Some people might be quick to point out that it could be a problem with PayPal rather than the three networks I have mentioned above, and I might have agreed with you if it wasn’t for the fact that I receive payments from many other companies and none of them have made me wait this long for payment.
I don’t know if it is a problem with them having the funds to pay as quickly these days because there appears to be an abundant of advertisers.
Thankfully I have other irons in the fire, but it must be incredibly difficult for those of you who rely on these companies paying out promptly in order for you to pay the bills and feed your families.
